Columbia University

Vintage Dress // Sam Edelman Boots // Isabel Marant pour H&M Jacket // Madewell Scarf // Louis Vuitton Speedy // Ray Ban Sunnies

This past week I spent a few days with my paper at the Columbia Scholastic Press Association conference in New York.

I haven't talked about it much on here, but being a writer and features editor for my paper has really turned me on to Journalism. That's why I'm going to major in Communication or Journalism at college.

Now sadly, I'm not attending Columbia (haha), but being there was so magical and it made me realize how passionate I am about Journalism.

Columbia is such a beautiful school, if you are around Washington Heights, I highly suggest checking out the breathtaking dome library.

Merry Late Christmas

It's a bit late, but this was my Christmas Eve dinner outfit. My family and I went out to a delicious Lebanese restaurant and then opened gifts by the tree. I had a great Christmas and I hope you did too.

If you notice a difference the the quality it is because it's on my film camera. I bought it for a few dollars at a thrift store, it worked instantly with a fresh battery and some film.

I'm really getting into experimenting with the different types of photography since I'm not the best at digital photography. Film photography adds a really cool effect that no instagram filter can match. Carefully planning out each picture (because you have limited snaps) has sparked creativity in me and make me really think about each thing I take a picture of. Also, the anticipation of waiting the see how the pictures turned out is really exciting.

Stay tuned for a NYE post which will be coming up in January.

Put-Together-Cozy

Sorry for the radio silence this past week. It's been so cold and rainy that I haven't been inspired to create any note-worthy looks. The awful weather has made me want to stay inside all warm and dry, so I decided to shoot this look in my living room that I find really peaceful and cozy.

This outfit is a simple comfortable one that is perfect for thanksgiving dinner if you need to look presentable in front of your extended family. Dressing up a pair of leggings is my favorite thing to do during the colder months because they are just so damn comfortable, yet I still like to keep it somewhat fashionable with suede boots and a printed tee.

I always have a tradition of reading a book over Thanksgiving break. This year I'm reading Alexa Chung's It. Also, my family and I always go out and see the new Twilight movies together, but now that it's over we are seeing Catching Fire. Do you have any holiday traditions?

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers, stay warm.

French Cowgirl

I took on the western trend full force today. This autumn I noticed I've worn a ton of menswear inspired looks, but today I just felt like dressing like a girl. Well, to an extent... a skirt is girly enough for me so I can throw on a bomber jacket like this Isabel Marant pour H&M one. Yes, it is a children's jacket and was a hell-of-a-lot cheaper than any of the women's clothes.

I don't venture into the children's department a lot (mostly because of awful memories as a pre-teen being force to still shop in the children's department), but I forgot how much cheaper and more convenient it is. Maybe I try it more often.

Am I the only one who's confused on how this is a western look, yet I feel o-so-french in it? I'll just credit that to Isabel.

Outfit Details:
Sweater- Michael Kors
Skirt- Lohman's  (designer unknown)
Boots- Urban Outfitters

Decided to add a little music to add to the mood/feeling of the outfit. Or at least it's what I think goes with it. Let me know what you think.

Isabel Marant pour HM

As you can see I got a lot of goodies from the Isabel Marant pour H&M collection. I was really looking forward to this collection and I'm grateful I got my hands on a few things. My H&M was kind of picked over when I went on Saturday, two days after the collection debuted. I wish I could have gotten the Loop Knit Jumper, but sadly it was no where to be seen. I still got a few good things, mostly from the kids section (yay for being a midget).

The sweat pants are in a size 10-11Y, they fit pretty good but are a tad short. The printed top is in a size 8 and fits perfectly- I wanted an over sized, slouchy fit. Lastly, the bomber jacket is in a size 11-12Y. The sleeves are a bit short and it is definitely a cropped jacket, but I still love it otherwise.

I'm glad to be donning some discounted designer duds. Hopefully these will make me feel French, Haha.
