Summer in The City: Embellished Street

Free People Dress // Comme Ça Ism Bomber // Superga Sneakers // Chanel Mini Caviar Flap

In my last Summer in The City look I decided to take a formal dress (this one I actually wore to a high school homecoming dance) and make it hypercool for a night out in Chelsea.

Just add a jacket and tennis shoes and any look is turned street. The particular interest here is the heavy beaded dress and gold accents with accessories; then juxtaposing it with a casual linen bomber and beat-up Supergas.

Sorry all of my posts have been summer related, but I'm officially out of archives and pre-shot looks. Now I must create new and relevant content, so stay tuned for fall posts.

Have a great week xx

Teen Vogue Fashion Click

Today I found out I was featured on Teen Vogue's Facebook page.

This came as a surprised because just last week I submitted my Senior Prom post to a daily contest run by Teen Vogue called Fashion Click.

Its a contest where bloggers compete by votes to get to the top spots that day. When they make it to the top they are then featured on Teenvogue.com.

It would really mean a lot if you all vote and share my post so I can expand my readership and connect with more bloggers! Thanks so much.

Senior Homecoming

Last night was my senior homecoming. The weekend started with the homecoming game, which we won 33-20. Then on Saturday was the homecoming dance.

I wasn't too excited for homecoming after my amazing time at prom last year. I find homecoming dances just aren't as fun. However, I did have a great time this year. My boyfriend is the best date for a dancing event because he boogies down the entire time.

The theme  of the dance was "Midnight in Paris." There wasn't much Parisian charm in the gym, but the strings of Christmas lights added good ambiance.

For the dance I wore a lambskin leather French Connection dress I found at Lohmans. I'm pretty proud of the find because it retailed for $500 and I got it for $130 and it fits like a dream. I decided not to get it shortened because I think the length is good (hitting me right above the knee) for a professional environment for the future.
